Gold Beach Resort

The cafe lights give the place a camping-trip feel, and the male owner seems hardworking and diligent. Parking and the rooms were both pretty good, and the resort is close to Yeosu City and the sea. One catch: although it's by the sea, there's no sandy beach to enjoy.

There’s ample parking, and the setting by a quiet beach is peaceful. You can walk along the shore path early in the morning, take in the ocean view with family or friends, and even cook a simple meal. We were four people, so we got a Korean-style room, but the mattresses and bedding weren't covered with sheets. It felt unpleasant and unhygienic to use bedding that other guests may have used, especially since it probably isn't washed each time. This really needs to be fixed.

The owner was so welcoming, and the kids had a great time on the brand-new trampoline. We stayed in a peaceful spot by the harbor with an ocean view. The place was reasonably priced, and the amenities, bedding, and appliances were all brand new.

Rooms are a bit small, and there isn't much shopping nearby beyond the restaurants. There is a convenience store about a minute down the road, though, and buses run often. It's a fishing village just outside Yeosu City.
