Sun House Hotel

I was in a deluxe room on the 6th floor. It seemed to have been cleaned thoroughly, but the room felt old and had a strong cigarette or mold smell. It really needed remodeling, though the view was great, especially at night, as you can see in the posted photos. Nearby is the famous "Yeosu Night Sea," where you can see, hear, and sing about the night sea, though I’ve forgotten the name. The yacht dock is close, and I highly recommend going in the evening to see it. It’s fantastic. Ask the hotel front desk for directions. A taxi from the hotel was around the basic fare or a bit more, maybe 4,000 won. They said you could walk there for exercise, but it seemed a bit far, and I was cursing by the time I got there because the walk was so hard.

You can hear the sea nearby, and the area feels calm and peaceful. The hotel itself is small, with a modest lobby and comfortable rooms that have enough space for two, though they aren’t large. There’s no pool, gym, lounge, or night bar, and meals are served at the neighboring hotel’s restaurant. If you enjoy trying unfamiliar food, the local dishes are worth a go, and the local drinks are light and pleasant.

We booked a standard room, and honestly, it wasn’t very good. I’ve heard the deluxe rooms are nicer. The lobby looked like it belonged to an old motel that had only just been remodeled and relabeled as a hotel.

The ondol room barely had any heat, and the bedding was shabby. I’d booked it so my child and I could sleep warmly, but we ended up relying on our own body heat. The facilities were poor.
