Yeosu Wow A Pension

The location is somewhat remote, and there aren’t any convenience stores nearby, so it’s inconvenient if you suddenly need something. The view is decent, and there are restaurants close by if you want to eat out. I had no complaints about the stay itself. There are four pension buildings together, with the same layout, though the owners seem to differ. I stayed in Room 102 at Porureu Pension, the third building from the left. It’s on the first floor and has a duplex layout, with a bedroom and living room/kitchen downstairs and a bed in the loft. It’s a standard four-person room. If you’re not a couple, you can request extra foldable mattresses and blankets for a fee. There are three air conditioners, a floor-standing one in the downstairs living room and wall-mounted units in the bedroom and loft, so the cooling is powerful. The TV channels worked well, and the bathroom was clean. In one corner of the living room, the sink area has knives, scissors, pots, plates, cutlery, and basic seasonings. There’s also a microwave and a single-burner induction cooktop. Toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, four shower towels, and a hairdryer. Razors and toothbrushes aren’t provided. For a barbecue, you can use the electric grill on the veranda by the living room or the outdoor grill. You need to apply to the owner in advance either way. There’s a shared swimming pool up the stairs behind the building.

The price is low, the view is lovely, and the area around it is really quiet. The cats are cute, too. The photos made it seem spacious, but it felt pretty cramped in person. The bathroom attached to the room barely has room for one person to stand in.

The off-season price was 65,000 won, and the pension was spotless, with a lovely interior that made for a comfortable stay. They supplied a rice cooker, pot, cups, bowls, and cutlery, and rented us a grill pan for 10,000 won. The ocean view was great, though swimming wasn't allowed because the water was part of the village fishing grounds. Getting there from Yeosu took a while along a narrow, winding road. I live in Yongin, so it's a bit of a trek for me, but I'd come often if it were closer.

The indoor draft is strong, so I wouldn't choose this place for a winter stay. It's a duplex, but the ceiling over the bed is low enough that you can easily bump your head. The stairs are steep, and falling down them could be fatal.
