Q Hotel

The staff were friendly, and it was a nice stay all in all. The room was clean, but the price felt a little high because it’s near a theme park. The beds were soft, although the head end seemed lower than the foot, and the comforters looked old and lumpy. The fridge was a good size and had a freezer. The computer in the room didn’t work.

We were close to Everland, and the hotel suited our needs for a pleasant stay. It was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly. Our family room was meant for four, but they accommodated our request for a fifth family member with a floor bed for a small extra charge. It’s not a luxurious place, but we felt good about choosing it.

I booked soon after learning there was a music festival nearby, and the reservation was confirmed. Two weeks later, the hotel messaged through the booking agency saying they’d overbooked and wanted me to cancel. I said I couldn’t, then called and spoke with someone in English who said they’d try to work with me. Over the next four weeks I spoke with them twice more in English, but then they canceled my booking without any further warning. When I called, they just said, “We don’t speak English,” and hung up. The booking agency told me the hotel had prioritized local reservations over international ones. I’d booked within hours of finding out where the festival was, but because I wasn’t Korean, my reservation was canceled. If you’re a foreigner, don’t count on hospitality here. Stay somewhere else.

The only good point for us was being less than 10 minutes from Everland Theme park. The staff were rude and disrespectful, and we were charged extra because we’re American. The room looked like someone had been staying there before we arrived. The bathroom lights didn’t work, and there was what looked like mold.
