The mix of old and new gives the hotel a beautiful feel, and its location is great. The staff were warm and helpful from our arrival right through to when we left, which made us feel very comfortable. We spent a long weekend at Le Royal Express and really enjoyed it. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The buffet had very few options, and for what we paid, I expected at least standard service and basic hygiene. The listing on booking made it sound like a great 3-star hotel, but it really wasn’t. I also don’t know whether asking for a marriage certificate is normal in Kuwait, but that’s what happened to us. The man kept staring as if we were lying about being married, like we were escaping justice and he’d caught us. I don’t know why we would lie about something like that.

The receptionists were helpful and cooperative, and the breakfast was varied and good. The furniture is very old and needs a lot of maintenance. I’d recommend it for a business trip or an overnight stay.

I’m giving three stars because the presidential suite I got was great. The hospitality was the worst part, though. The reception staff should learn how to treat customers, and guests or friends aren’t allowed. The way to the lifts smelled because there’s a seafood cooking area, and maintenance wasn’t proper.
