A clean, comfortable place with a lovely ocean view from the small beach and a nice pool area. The beach isn’t really very swimmable. If you’re after a quieter stay away from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach, this is a good option. I’d recommend having a car to get around the island. Buses are available, but after May it can be quite hot to stand around waiting, especially after a grocery or beach trip.

Moon Bay is an appealing property, and condo #31 was clean and maintained well. But lots of small problems got in the way of enjoying it. The AC and ceiling fans were noisy, the sheets felt scratchy, and the bed was lumpy and springy. There was a lot of traffic noise, and the bedside lamp had no bulb. The water stays very shallow a long way out from the beach, and Bodden Town is far from everything, about a 20-minute drive. There are a few local restaurants nearby, fine but nothing special. We’ve rented places through VRBO in the Caribbean and Europe, and this condo was the most sparsely supplied. Other places usually have coffee, cooking oil or Pam, basic cooking supplies, soaps and shampoo. In Paris, they even left a welcome bottle of wine. At Moon Bay there were salt and pepper shakers with duct-taped bottoms, hand and dish soap, coffee filters, and sunscreen. We felt underwhelmed.

If you’re after a relaxing break by the pool, this relatively small complex on Bodden Town’s eastern side could suit you. There’s also a small community beach on site. It has four blocks, made up mostly of homes belonging to locals and expats, as well as holiday homes, many of which can be rented short term.

We were visiting family who were staying in this complex through Airbnb and got to enjoy the pool, beach, and lunch at the tables in the tiki hut. The two-bedroom condo was practical and had everything the two couples needed.
