We’d likely stay here again if we come back to Grand Cayman. Rum Point is only 15 minutes away, with a nice beach, restaurant, bar, and several tour operators nearby. This large complex has a small grocery store and liquor store across the street, and we always found a place to park. You’ll need a rental car here. It’s a good spot on the East End if you want to avoid the busyness of Seven Mile Beach. There are three unheated pools, and some buildings face the ocean. Our basic but functional one-bedroom was on the lower level, facing the beach, with a great view. The kitchen was well equipped with paper towels and dishwasher soap, though toiletries weren’t supplied. The shower drain was a little slow. Housekeeping seemed sporadic, and there was no clear pattern to the day or time they came. The worst part was the pull-out mattress, with springs you could feel poking into your whole body. More buildings are still being built.

Since family members are staying at Morritts Resort, we can’t just leave and are stuck here for another week. We’ll try to make the best of it, but this has felt uncomfortable and unsanitary. Brown water came from both the bathroom sink and shower tonight, after a long travel day when all we wanted was to wash up and sleep. At the front desk, staff showed no urgency or care and said there were no rooms available to move us to, so we’re left with this for our whole stay. A maintenance man told us there’s rust in all the water heaters on the property. He said we could either take cold showers or flush the heater every few days to avoid bathing in brown water. In a hot climate, a cold shower might be bearable on its own, but being made to choose between cold and brown water is unacceptable. The front desk staff were very dismissive. We felt like asking for clean water was an inconvenience, and the response was basically “tough luck.” Things can go wrong, but the lack of professionalism and empathy was appalling. I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel I need to warn others. For a resort in such a beautiful part of the Grand Caymans, we expected clean water, working amenities, and staff who care about guests. Morritts missed the mark on all of that. I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere and saving yourself the frustration.

The beach is beautiful, the rooms are nice, and there are lovely pools, plenty to do, and a very good restaurant. We’ve been coming here with our timeshare for many years and love it. It’s on the island’s east side, a little farther out, which makes it a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. There’s a small supermarket and shops within walking distance. Scuba diving can leave right from the dock, and you can even get certified here. A wonderful place to stay.

The facilities and pools were really good. They don’t provide shampoo, lotion, conditioner, or laundry detergent. Services we requested were available.
