Airport Hotel Aktau

It’s a quiet, safe spot right across from the airport, just a three-minute walk. The room was comfortable and fairly spacious, and there’s a small restaurant in the hotel where you can get food any time. The main drawback was communication. The staff didn’t speak English, so I had to use a translator for Russian throughout.

With a flight delay of more than 8 hours, having a place to rest right on the airport grounds made a big difference. I paid 20,000 KZT for 8 hours, which seemed fair for the convenience, and the hotel’s small restaurant was handy when I wanted something to eat. It’s a simple place, but the room was clean, had the basic amenities, and was quiet. For a short stop in transit or an unexpected delay, it worked well for me.

The location is the one good thing about this place. A 24-hour room costs $120, yet the toilet was broken, some light bulbs were missing, and the TV remote had no batteries. Worst of all, the bedding didn’t seem fresh. Avoid it if you can.

It’s a handy place if you arrive late, with the airport just a one-minute walk away. The staff were really friendly and helped me arrange a taxi to aktau city.
