Hotel Holiday Inn Aktau - Seaside, Ihg Hotel

I stayed in mid-January, in winter, and still enjoyed it, even though the hotel seems geared toward good weather. It's a few miles from the center, but easy to reach by public transport or even on foot. Families and kids have things to do, and the pool was more than enough for this time of year. Breakfast was good, and you can choose a room with a sea view. There are places nearby for dinner or coffee. A couple of restaurants along the coast were temporarily closed, while the ones in the residential area were open.

Our balcony looked out toward the sea and the waterpark. Luckily it was empty, since it could have been noisy. The spa was pleasant, with a lovely pool and sauna, though you need to tell them an hour ahead if you want the sauna turned on. The hotel was clean and had very pleasant spaces, and the staff were lovely, helpful and attentive. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. There were a few detail issues: our room had no toilet paper and only one bathrobe, though the two one-litre water bottles were very welcome. I recommend the hotel and hope to come back.

I spent a few days here in spring and would come back. The small balcony and view of the Caspian Sea were nice, and the room service food was very good. Staff at reception and elsewhere were attentive and helpful, and breakfast offered plenty of choices. I did tell them the weight machine in the fitness room should be replaced because it wasn't easy to use. They held special events, but I couldn't hear them from my room.

I was here for a few days during a long bike tour, and the hotel was lovely. The staff were phenomenal and kind. Almost everyone spoke good English, and if someone didn't, they quickly found a colleague to help. The restaurant was very good, and I loved the coffee from the bar. It's an easy walk to the waterfront and its beautiful jetty. It may be a bit far from the city center, restaurants and shops, though Aktau doesn't seem to have much of a center. With a car, those places would be an easy drive away. I can't speak to peak season, but based on the hotel itself, it's very good and I'd definitely stay here in Aktau again.
