ASIA Hotel

The staff weren’t friendly, and cleanliness wasn’t well maintained. I have two babies, and during our stay I wasn’t allowed to change wet clothes and was charged a penalty for leaving them outside the room. Keeping wet or dirty clothes in the room feels unhygienic and can cause colds and coughs, so the penalty made no sense to me. There was also dirt coming from my sister’s room. As we were checking out, staff told her to clean it herself. That was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Overall, a very disappointing stay.

For 17,000 KZT, it’s a perfectly adequate hotel room: clean, with no frills. The hotel’s beautiful entrance is its most distinctive and nicest feature.

It’s a cheap, hostel level hotel, and you get what you pay for. I’ve stayed in plenty of budget places, so I’m still giving it 3 stars. The decor was nice, though the walls could use fresh paint. Our room had what looked like beer spray stains all over one wall, and the service was friendly enough. The downsides were hard to miss. There’s no breakfast, and the walls are paper thin, so you hear every word from nearby rooms. People coming and going at all hours can be heard in your room too. The heat was set extremely high and we were sweating, so we opened the window even though it was -8° and snowing. That let in the parking lot traffic and people walking by, which kept us awake.

I showed up way before check-in, but they still managed to get me into a room early. Really appreciated it!
