Berkana Hotel

We appreciated the peaceful feel, even though it’s a little farther from the city center than some other hotels. Our superior room had a large rectangular balcony. No breakfast, but there’s a fridge and kettle, and the decor and facilities are a bit dated but fine. Staff were friendly, and the price felt fair for what we got. Canteens and grocery shops are within walking distance.

Hotel Berkana was a great stay. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable, and the staff were amazing, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. It’s in a quiet spot but still an easy walk to convenience stores, restaurants, and other shops. I’ll definitely come back.

The hotel isn’t fancy, but it’s very clean and comfortable, and the location worked excellently for our week exploring Almaty and the surrounding area. We could easily get here by Yandex or bus. Anna and Juliya made the stay easy and memorable with all the attention they gave us. They were a pleasure to chat with, offered lots of advice, and helped us with bookings and tours.

The place has an old-time feel, but it was comfortable for the price. There’s a fridge and hot shower, and I liked the cute balcony off the hallway, which would’ve been a nice place for coffee. We stayed only a night and a half, so didn’t get to use it. The reception staff were very kind and helpful. They don’t speak much English, but still try their best to assist. We arrived very late and our keys were already ready. They even carried our luggage because there’s no elevator. Gogol and Arbat street are within walking distance. I’d definitely stay again when we return to Almaty.
