The view outside the property in winter was breathtaking. Watching the snow come down felt almost unreal. The hotel itself was very clean and quiet, so the stay was comfortable. One little tip: pack light if you can. My room involved going up stairs, which could make very large suitcases inconvenient.

We ended up adding two more days to our stay because the hostel was so comfortable for the price. The private room was extremely spacious, the washroom was clean, hot water was steady, and the heating worked well. Great value for the money!

The owners were really respectful and helpful. The location was convenient, close to restaurants, the local indoor market, and the river trails. We booked a room with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom in this renovated building. It was clean and cozy, with a nice mountain view.

I had a fantastic stay at Esentai Hostel in Almaty. It’s right along the river, with a calm, welcoming feel. The place had what I needed: heaters, clean washrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy dining area, and onsite parking for the car. The owner was warmly welcoming, and her son was a great host. I can’t wait to return. Cheers!

The bed cover looked unwashed and smelled like the previous guest’s sweat. The shower drained so poorly that water rose above my ankles while I was using it. The toilet and shower were cramped into a tiny space with a terrible smell. I don’t understand the good reviews. If hygiene matters to you, this isn’t the place.
