Breakfast was awful: it ran out by 9 AM even though it was meant to go until 11, and the staff refused to bring more. At night the lobby was full of drunk people, and the location felt filthy. Our bedding was in terrible shape. The mattress and blankets were dirty, and our sheets weren't changed during our three days there. Housekeeping were extremely rude, and they gave two of us only one litre of water a day. They wouldn't provide more even when I offered to pay. Worst hotel experience in Almaty. Avoid it.

I landed around 1:30 a.m. and stayed just one night, so this place worked out well. It’s a little old, but the price I paid through make my trip was good, and breakfast was great. It’s also close to the airport. I can recommend it.

I booked four nights but left after just one and found another hotel the next day. There was no window in the room, the AC didn’t work, and the bedsheet felt itchy. The room had only basic cleaning. If you’re planning a good trip to Almaty, I wouldn’t book here. It felt like a waste of money, and you may regret staying.

After a busy day, I really liked unwinding at the spa and pool. Getting to and from the airport was easy with the shuttle, too. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the welcoming staff were attentive. There was a tasty breakfast buffet with a good range of choices. Great value and a relaxed feel. Highly recommend the Grand Erbil Hotel in Almaty!
