Grand Sapphire

We had a great stay at the Grand Sapphire Hotel for almost a week. Our room was clean, though a little small, and the friendly, helpful staff made us feel well looked after. Special thanks to Ms. Jezim, who kindly lent us taxi money when we had no cash, and to the male receptionist who printed our documents without charging us. We’re grateful for that extra care. The location was very accessible for getting to many tourist spots. Highly recommended!

We spent one night at the Grand Sapphire Hotel in Almaty. The room was very small, but the bed was comfortable. There’s a wide choice of restaurants and supermarkets a short walk away, and the location is convenient. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet with lots of options. The bar wasn’t open in the evening. We checked out at midnight on the second night to go to the airport. The night desk staff member was hanging out with friends who were playing music and using all the seating in the foyer. About ten of us checked out then, and he seemed annoyed that we were interrupting his social time. He didn’t ask his friends to give up the lounges either.

Getting around Almaty was easy from here, and I loved the city and mountain views each morning. I spent five days at Grand Sapphire Hotel. The room was roomy, modern, and comfortable. The staff were welcoming too. One small hassle: the outlet wasn’t beside the bed, so charging devices at night was inconvenient.

The internet was the real letdown. It kept frustrating me while I tried to browse social media, and we relied on mobile data throughout the stay. You could see plenty of other guests using their own hotspots in the Wi-Fi settings. The hotel itself feels homey, the staff were nice, and the food was okay.
