Maqan Hotel Almaty

The staff made the stay feel special from check-in to check-out. They were kind, attentive, polite, and genuinely ready to help or be flexible if anything came up. We missed breakfast on our first day and came down after 11 a.m., but they still made us a lovely meal without us even asking. With a child, that meant a lot. Breakfast was great in general too, with tasty mains, snacks, desserts, and drinks. Our child found what they needed, and as we eat healthily, we appreciated options like grain porridge, chicken noodle soup, meat and vegetables, sides, and sausages, along with pancakes, sweet cottage cheese pastries, crème brûlée, mousse desserts, and cheese puff pastry rolls. The room was really comfortable after our 8-hour flight. The oversized bed, excellent fresh-smelling linens, and very comfortable mattress were a big plus. It had what we needed, including a minibar, safe, roomy wardrobe, an entry area for our things, soft bathrobes and slippers, a TV, and facilities for tea, water, and coffee. The bathroom and shower were spotless, with no bad smells from drains or cleaning products. Toiletries were provided, and I especially liked having a bidet shower by the toilet. Ventilation was excellent, and the air conditioning was easy to control. I also loved the modern minimalist interior with its ethnic accents, which made the place feel cozy and authentic. The view through the panoramic window was beautiful day and night, and the blackout curtains really helped us sleep despite sunrise being as early as 4 a.m. There’s a small souvenir corner in a national style near reception, so we could pick up gifts for friends without going around the city. I’ll definitely return and recommend the hotel.
