Premier Alatau Hotel

My husband and I stayed here and had a terrible experience. The hotel felt very unhygienic, and the breakfast they offer was the worst I've ever had. The reception lady was extremely rude, as were the other staff. Especially if you're Indian, please avoid staying here.

We spent five nights here and weren't happy with the hotel service. A receptionist wasn't willing to help when we asked for anything, and English was a major language barrier. Housekeeping was rude, and when we asked for two towels, they only arrived the next day. The restaurant was the bright spot: its staff were polite and helpful, and the food was good. The restaurant is superb, but I'd avoid staying here.

The location made it easy to get around, and the hotel itself is huge with very spacious rooms. They supplied toiletries and slippers. We stayed twice, though, and had service problems both times: one room had a broken kettle, and in the other the phone didn't work. We reported the phone at reception, but nothing was done. We had to go to reception whenever we needed a water bottle. Breakfast wasn't very filling either, with a set choice instead of a buffet, and it wasn't very good.

I’d rate this as a two-star hotel, definitely not three. The balcony looked very old, the carpets in the room were dirty, and the toilet flush didn’t work at first, so I had to call someone to fix it. One security guard, a big-bellied guy, seemed very rude to visitors, and that behavior was unacceptable. A star for the location and another for the lovely, kind receptionists who tried to help.
