The eastern-facing rooms look out toward the mountains, and breakfast had a good range of choices. The rooms are roomy, and the bathrooms were spotless. For a hotel that’s 30 years old, it’s been kept in really good shape, right in central Almaty. One bathroom detail to know: there’s just a bathtub, no separate shower space or health faucet, so bring a mug. Each room has an iron and ironing board.

Assylkhan deserves a special mention. He was patient, attentive, and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable. The rest of the staff were polite, professional, and happy to help too. My stay at Rahat Palace Hotel felt easy from the start. The place is elegant and well kept, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a relaxed feel that made me feel at home. It’s in a great spot for a visit to Almaty, and I’d happily recommend it for the hospitality and atmosphere.

The bathroom was the biggest problem. Water pooled on the floor because there was no proper drainage or separation between wet and dry areas, leaving it slippery and uncomfortable. In the room, the sockets and lights were poorly positioned and didn’t work well. Charging devices or getting enough light in the evening was difficult. I stayed at Hotel Rahat Palace, Almaty, and found the maintenance and facilities disappointing for a hotel claiming to be five-star. The property needs renovation and better upkeep. I wouldn’t recommend it until these basic problems are fixed.

Getting around the city for tours and activities was convenient from the hotel’s location. The rooms were clean and well looked after, and the housekeeping team did a great job. I also liked the modern furniture and the thoughtful amenities. The staff were very helpful, and the managers were especially considerate, making sure my requests were handled promptly. I had a fantastic stay at Rahat Palace Hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Almaty.
