Railway hotel

The wooden stairs and railway-station-style architecture give the building a distinct look, and the rooms have carpeted floors and separate storage or cupboards. It’s very clean, and the sheets are dry-cleaned regularly. For a solo traveler, the location near Almaty 1 Vokzal (Train Station) is very convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful. There’s hot water for bathing, a sauna if that’s your thing, free drinking water, and a kettle for tea or coffee. The AC worked well, with no problems.

The location right by Almaty 1 train terminal was great, and hot and cold drinking water was available in the common area. It’s a good budget option, with very clean rooms, sheets, and towels, plus toiletries. We stayed four nights, but housekeeping didn’t come to our room during that time.

I only needed somewhere cheap and clean to spend a few hours in Almaty before an early connecting flight, and this worked well. It’s close to both the airport and train station, so it’s handy if you have a train or flight to catch. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re good value for the price. The staff were very friendly and helped with whatever I needed.

There’s a huge mall nearby with a big food court, and the railway station is close too, as you’d expect from the hotel’s name. Rooms are comfortable enough, and there’s free parking inside. For what you pay, it’s very good value.
