Shera Hotel

The room was good value for its size, the location is close to Shymbulak, and breakfast was amazing. Still, the hotel in person looked old and nothing like the photos of the whole building. They should update the online picture or repaint the place. The male receptionist on the night shift was rude, sarcastic, and didn't care about my concern or help me. I don't know if that was just his attitude or if he didn't like his job, but he made no effort to make guests feel at home. There was no soundproofing, so I was kept awake by the people next door banging the doors as they came and went. At 2 am, I raised the issue with the man on duty at reception. The next morning I was groggy and exhausted, and found out those guests were on their last night. How is that fair to other guests who need decent sleep after a stressful trip before an early tour the next day? The woman I spoke with the following morning was more considerate. She said the neighbors would be leaving, and that otherwise they'd move me to a different room. My tour was booked through travelbot, the Pinoy tourism agency. They said they weren't responsible for the hotel's service. If it hadn't complicated the transfers and transport pickup and drop-off, I would have booked my own Airbnb.

The AC was out, and the window handle had broken off, so I couldn't open the window. The WiFi was too slow for work. I also wasn't allowed to take coffee to my room, and there was no coffee machine in the room. When I asked why, they just shrugged. Really bad.

Service was very poor. When we checked in, someone was still sleeping in the room. Staff hadn't checked out the previous guest before handing it over to us. The AC didn't work, and the reception staff couldn't communicate properly. Breakfast was very limited and not up to the standard of a four-star hotel. I'd avoid this place.

I was charged 10000 for a pillow that was already dirty before we checked in. Safety is poor too: someone came into our room and then ran off, and at 6 am someone called the room phone and woke us. I’d tell people to book somewhere more worthwhile.
