Silk Way Hotel

The receptionist was really friendly and spoke very good English. Breakfast choices are limited, but enough. It’s a decent location for the price, and while the rooms are a bit small, they’re manageable if you’ll be out sightseeing most of the time.

After a day exploring, the location made it easy to reach nearby attractions and come back to somewhere calm. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were warm and helpful, always ready with a smile. I had a truly wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kazakhstan.

There are better options at this price, or you could take an apartment, since the hotel offers very little service. I stayed 3N and my room was never cleaned, and they don’t provide water. The toiletries were poor quality, especially the dental ones. It’s a tiny, no frills place across from a mall, with several places within walking distance. It was neat and clean, and breakfast was basic but good. Nobody speaks English, which is a pain for tourists, and there’s no lift, so you have to carry your luggage to the second floor. I do appreciate that they packed sandwiches for the early mornings when I left for sightseeing. The 4.3/5 rating is misleading, so keep expectations low.

Across the street there’s a Euro Spar Supermarket, and Navat Restaursnt is an 8-10 minute walk away. Other places we planned to visit were within reasonable walking distance too. The room came with a hair dryer, water heater, and tea, and was cleaned every day. We did miss having a refrigerator, and there wasn’t a bidet, which we’re used to at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we returned from our tours to clean rooms. There was a language barrier, but they still made the stay worry free. Since our tours started too early for breakfast, they packed sandwiches for us and even checked if we had tours the next day so they could prepare them again. We loved our stay at silk way Hotel.
