The rooms are modern and nice, and look out over either the city or the mountains around it. During my recent trip to Almaty, I found supermarkets and Indian restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast has limited vegetarian choices.

We stayed eight days, and room service was bad throughout. They never brought a box of tissues, and the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. The toilet was left dirty with the lid simply shut. We reported that the refrigerator wasn't working right, but nobody came to fix it. Staff even used our body cream. Breakfast was below average, with almost the same limited food every day, so we had to go to a restaurant for a change. I don't recommend this hotel because of the service. If I could give less than one star, I would.

Before booking, read the recent one-star reviews. It seems like the hotel has changed a lot, and unreasonable fines are one of the biggest concerns. This has apparently happened to many previous guests, and they may think the fines are part of their salary. I've traveled to more than 50 countries, and this is the first hotel that has made me feel I had to leave a negative review. It was my first time in Kazakhstan, and I was deeply disappointed by both the hotel and Kazakhstani. This hotel and its manager are a true shame for Kazakhstan.

The staff and room service were bad, and the cleanliness didn't meet a 4-star standard. There was no toilet paper, either. At checkout they claimed I'd used items from the minibar, even though nothing had been touched. Reception was completely unprofessional.

The location is the best part. The rooms were clean and nice, and the price was great. Service was excellent too. 👌
