Tolkyn looked after us really well. She helped our Yandex taxi driver find the specific location, then met us with an umbrella in heavy rain and walked us to the suite. Her English is limited, but Google Translate and WhatsApp messages made it easy to communicate. She answered our questions, brought what we needed, and checked that things were going well. Our suite was on the 27th floor, with a great view of downtown Astana. The bed and sofa were comfortable, there were lots of electrical outlets, and the bedroom had its own air conditioner. The shower was spacious and modern, and cosy bathrobes were provided. Digital codes opened both the building and apartment doors, and were easy to use. The apartment hotel is in the upscale, safe Highvill tower district, across from the US Embassy and a large mosque. We never heard the calls to prayer. A large supermarket is about a five-minute walk away, and Coffee Boom downstairs serves coffee, cake, and full meals at reasonable prices. There are also plenty of places to visit within a ten-minute walk, and Yandex taxis are very cheap in Astana. We’d happily stay here again if we return to Astana, and highly recommend it.
