Sky House Astana

At night, the apartment has an excellent view of Astana, and the free Wi-Fi is a nice extra. We felt safe staying there with family. Just remember this is a private apartment used for business, not a hotel, and finding it can be tricky. It's on the building's highest floor, and the entrance is inside a small mall with coffee shops and a mini mart. The owner was very cooperative. We asked about an airport transfer, and she came with us early in the morning to arrange a taxi and make sure the fare would be 2000kz. To find the apartment, ask the taxi driver to drop you at Dostyk Avenue 5 Street, in front of Mega Sport, as shown in the attached picture. The mall entrance is beside the Tez Tour sign under the stairs. Go up to Level 1 using the stairs, then walk about 50 steps. On your left, beside the shop, look for the glass entrance marked DostyIk 5/1. Press 221 to unlock the door, or wait for someone to open it. Then take the lift to the 41st floor and go to apartment 221, or call the number from your booking.

For the price, it's not bad, and the view from the window is the best in the city. The room is large but pretty simple, with the outlets far from the bed and internet that's basically unusable. You have to order breakfast for a specific time. The selection is limited, but the food is edible.

If all you need is somewhere central to fall into bed, this is a great option. Waking up on the 41st floor, taking the fast elevator down, and feeling close enough to touch the clouds are worth a lot of the small service problems.

The deluxe room was a little chilly, but it was clean and comfortable. You're on the 41st floor of Northern Lights, looking out toward Baiterek and Akorda, with convenient access to anywhere in Astana.
