Hotel Atyrau Dastan

The location is very convenient, and the rooms are clean, well organized, and a good size. The staff are great, and it's consistently comfortable and good value. Their chef claims the food is halal, and the quality is good too.

Staff speak good English and were efficient, supportive, and provided a good standard of service. My fourth-floor room was large, with reasonable facilities and working Wi-Fi. The shower was fine, though bigger towels would help. It got hot, probably because the Soviet-era city heating isn't easy to adjust. I opened a window, and the city or hotel reduced the heating at night. I noticed mosquito nets on the windows for summer. Compared with other places in Atyrau, it wasn't a bad stay, though my four-star rating reflects that comparison.

Aizhan at reception is really kind and helpful. I also love the summer terrace restaurant, where the waiters speak English and bring orders quickly. It's a great place to have dinner and chat with friends.

I felt very safe during my short stay, and the hotel was clean and tidy. Rinat, the young gentleman at reception, gave me a warm welcome and helped a lot. There were no extra charges, including for transfers, and calls got an immediate response. Breakfast was served as arranged, and staff were calm and helpful. The COVID-19 preventive measures were all in place.
