I had a two-night stay at Somerset City Center Atyrau, from 21-23 June, 2023. The team made a very good first impression: check-in was quick when I arrived at midnight, and the front desk staff were welcoming and extremely polite. The room was clean and ready, a relief after a tiring trip. The welcome setup lifted my "do to bed" mood so much that I stayed up until 02:00 enjoying the picturesque city view from the terrace. The king-size bed was cozy, and I slept very well. I had several business meetings at the Bar during the day, and it worked well for private and business conversations. I also needed pages printed for a presentation, and Ruslan, who I believe is in charge of Front of the House Services, handled it quickly and professionally. He was polite and helpful. For lunch, I ordered a beef medallion, fresh salad, and diet coke through Room Service. The food was great and arrived quickly, though the attendant forgot the diet coke at first and brought it later. Breakfast in the all day dining restaurant had excellent service. I accepted the cappuccino offered for a small extra charge. There was a wide choice of vegetables, fruit, hot dishes, and cold cuts, including omelette, fried and boiled eggs, sausages, garnish, and fried fish. I only tried an omelette with vegetables, so I can't speak to everything. Mr. Zakaria Tamni, the Hotel General Manager, greeted me and checked whether my stay was going well or if anything could make it more comfortable. I didn't expect that kind of five-star attention. The bathroom and its amenities were high quality, hygiene was perfect, and the air conditioning and other in-room facilities met my expectations. After my last meeting, I rushed back to collect my things because I was late for my flight. I asked the Front Desk attendants to arrange an airport drop-off and help with my luggage. Andrey and Maga, hotel operation Managers, came to my room to help carry it. I felt cared for and safe, and briefly felt at home away from home. It was a great stay, and I want to thank the whole Hotel Team. I highly recommend it as value for money with five-star service.

We were five at Manzara restaurant, and all of us had something to complain about. The pasta was very undercooked and dry, and the quality didn't justify the price. The interior is beautiful, though, and the service was good. Aina, the waitress, listened patiently and tried to sort things out.

It may look picturesque, but the actual experience was far from recommendable. The furniture feels made from the cheapest materials, and problems weren't handled or put right properly. We were "upgraded" to a smaller bedroom, the supposedly "clean" cutlery still had food on it, and the bathroom drains were clogged and smelled terrible. Staff were grumpy, and they even tried to charge us for complimentary water. This is nowhere near five-star quality. Avoid it at all costs.

Assylay arranged my airport transfer to the hotel very quickly after I contacted them. Many thanks to her for the service. Five stars deserved.
