Hotel Diar

For the price, this hotel was comfortable and really good, with no problems during our stay. Check-in staff were professional and offered to hold my luggage for a later check-in, since rooms can be booked for 24 hours. The morning receptionist was less welcoming, but that alone doesn't seem worth lowering the rating. We were about 90% satisfied. There's an Uzbek café by the entrance that's okay if you just want breakfast. Walk a couple hundred meters and you can find somewhere better for the same price. I was torn between giving it four or five stars.

I keep coming back to the Diar Hotel on Masloprom, and today's visit was top-notch as usual. Inga, my favorite receptionist, was delighted to see me. I'm a regular, and I'm very picky, but I find it especially easy to get along with the staff here. Everything is superb.

We were tired after arriving in Atyrau late at night, and the nearby hotels were full, so we ended up at the Didar Hotel. I was horrified by the bedding: the sheets were old, unkempt, full of holes, and not even ironed. Worse, the duvet cover hadn't been changed after the previous guests and had stains. We should have noticed earlier, but it was late and we just wanted to rest.

With 14 hours to go before my flight, I found this nearby hotel in Atyrau. It was modern and cozy, with everything in the room for relaxing, showering, sleeping, and having fun. The staff were very attentive.
