Corona Hotel

I've stayed here for years because other hotels are always full, but this is the first time I've felt I had to write a review. The service, especially at reception, leaves a lot to be desired. Two adult Russian women at the desk are rude, while only the younger receptionist treats customers respectfully. The rooms are cold and smoky. The cafe is convenient, though, and I have no complaints about it; its kitchen is open around the clock. After the rude treatment and the lack of response to requests, I don't want to stay here again. I do wonder where the positive reviews come from.

We only stopped for half a day while passing through, and the room was 5,500 tenge. It was huge and had everything we needed. We especially liked the comfortable bed, the wide choice of TV channels, and the bathtub. It felt like home. The cafe is open 24 hours, has reasonable prices, a good menu, and tasty food. We were pleasantly surprised, it's a great hotel and I'd recommend it.

Clean, comfortable guest rooms, but the linens and towels look washed out. I'd keep a stay to one night at most. The cafe food is so-so, and the price doesn't feel right for the quality.

We arrived at 10 p.m. and left at 3 a.m. without even showering because there was no hot water. Noise from a disco in the neighboring room kept us from sleeping, and when I called the administration, they did nothing. There was a wedding on the first floor, a fight, and people were using the toilet right under the windows, so the smell came into our room. I asked for half the money back, but the administrator was asleep. A young man there said, quote, “What, return it?” and told me they don't give refunds. Fine, whatever. This is an awful place.
