For an overnight stop, this is a really good choice. The place is basic and clean, with that old Soviet sanatorium feel, and the receptionist was great. A double room with a toilet and sink costs 4000; the king bed room with air conditioning and a shower is 5500. Cafes, fast food, shops and intercity taxis are all close by. The route to the city beach is easy too, about a straight 20-minute walk.

The staff are attentive, polite and tactful, and I’ve always found the rooms and bedding clean, with fresh air and what you need for a restful stay. I’ve been here more than once and have been very happy each time. I plan to return with my family again. Have a lovely summer weekend, everyone! I’m not sure whether this is the Ili Hotel, but it’s nearby.

For the price, it’s a good deal. The room is clean, though shabby and very Soviet-era, and I hope the administration gets around to renovating the hotel since this is a regional center. The beds squeak, the walls are thin, and the soundproofing is awful. They do provide hand towels and used soap, though.

It’s basically the Soviet Union in hotel form. The rooms are just for sleeping, and some are rented as offices, including Yuzhkaz Nedra and private bailiffs. Reception is on the second floor, with a sofa 🛋 and TV nearby. It’s an old Soviet hotel 🛎, what can you do.
