Kontinent Apart Hotel

For the price, you won't find much better. The staff were friendly, and Elena at reception deserves a special mention. My room had a shower, fridge, kettle, and dishes, plus there's a shared kitchen where you can cook. Had a good stay at this nice little-town hotel.

We only stopped here because we had to. The bathroom was shared and dirty, and there was no shampoo or soap. The towels felt hard and looked old and faded. The lumpy, worn-out pillows made it hard to sleep. The place still feels stuck in the 20th century. Not a good hotel.

We took a room for four and paid 2,300 tenge per person. It's a decent, cheap hotel, though everything is old. At least it was clean.

The mattress was damp and made sleeping really cold. I ended up in winter clothes with the windows open. The blanket looked warm, but was dusty, like a vacuum cleaner bag. I booked the suite for 3600 since it was the least smelly option. The hot tub had a damp smell, and there wasn't a shower or toilet inside, though that wasn't too bad. The hotel was cheap.
