Altyn Adam Hotel

The location was handy, right by a park and a walking area, and the breakfast had lots to choose from. I stayed three nights. The hotel is older and some of the renovation looks worn, but it’s kept clean and in good shape. Staff were polite, and the food we ordered to the room, wraps and pizza, was delicious. The Wi-Fi was the main problem: it kept cutting out, which made working difficult. Otherwise, things went well. Thank you.

We got no help at all when we ran into trouble paying. The terminal required a card and PIN, but the machines weren’t set up for that, and we couldn’t withdraw cash with the card either. The receptionist responded with aggression and told us to check out or find the money. When we asked them to find a terminal where we could insert the card, they said guests like us weren’t welcome and wouldn’t look for one. On top of that, there’s no elevator, so you’ll have to carry your suitcases upstairs yourself. Nobody will help.

We rented three rooms and had a great stay. The staff were friendly, everything was very clean, and the buffet was more than enough. The air conditioning worked, and the kids loved the jacuzzis in two of the rooms. My room’s tub looked a bit worn, but it was fine if you just wanted to freshen up. Shampoo and a dental kit were supplied. Free parking was available, with a paid spot 20 meters away as another option. The Wi-Fi worked well enough for YouTube (yes, YouTube is available in Kazakhstan!). Good value for the money, and I can recommend it.

The location is superb, and we were really impressed. My husband and I checked in at 2:00 PM and stayed in a spacious Comfort+ room with a comfortable bed, kettle, and fridge. We were especially pleased to have a drinking water dispenser. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were quick to help whenever needed. The jacuzzi didn’t work, though, and the water pressure couldn’t be adjusted. We left at 5:00 AM, before breakfast was served, which is understandable for a hotel in this class.
