We were there as a family from July 21st to 25th, 2025, and I’d happily make Alazis our regular place. I’ve been visiting Alakol every year since 2008 and have tried both pricey and budget resorts before finding this one. Admin Shyngys deserves a special thank you. He’s a great guy, and the staff overall are friendly, capable, and quick to help. The administrator also arranged a separate dining area for us. Our two-story log cottage was lovely and stayed cool, so we hardly used the air conditioning, even though each room has one. The grounds are looked after, with wooden loungers for relaxing, a volleyball court, and a toddler playground. Arbat Street and the beach are just 5-7 minutes away, which made getting around easy. They also let us bring our little faithful friend when we checked in, since we had nowhere to leave him. I’ll be back, and I hope all these things stay the same over time.

I’m staying here right now. The shower water is cold, which is the room issue I’ve noticed, but the service and food are good and the rest is up to par. It’s close enough to Arbat Street to be convenient, yet far enough that the noise doesn’t carry, which works well for families with kids.

We stumbled across this hotel while looking online and were pleased with our choice once we arrived. Alazis is one of the few places in the area close to the beach, just a three-minute walk from shore. We only learned that from the area map in the brochure they gave us later. Arbat Street is nearby too, so there’s somewhere to go each evening. Kids have plenty to enjoy there, from Belgian waffles, ice cream, and rides to a little market with tables selling toys, jewelry, and mojitos. You can also pick up swimsuits, beach blankets, aqua shoes, and other things. The house is built from Siberian logs, and it feels quiet and peaceful inside, with no static. In the mornings we could hear a cuckoo and, farther away, a rooster. The toilet and shower stall were clean and spacious. The main nuisance along this stretch of coast was loud disco music from the neighboring hotel, "Aigerim," sometimes playing until 1 a.m. At least the place itself was quiet again when we woke up. The food was homemade and tasty, with a new chef. Even our picky kids liked it and ate well, and there was plenty of meat. Breakfast included porridge plus pies or baursaks; lunch had first and second courses, and dinner came with a main dish and salad. The chef greeted everyone in person at each meal and could make something separately if a child wouldn’t eat what was served. Everything around the property was clean and kept up. Ainura, the lovely administrator, welcomed guests warmly and always sorted out any issues. Alazis is a comfortable, clean, cozy, civilized place with the amenities you need if you want a nature break. We had a really nice stay. It has its own charm and special feel, so come ready to see, feel, and enjoy that instead of comparing it with Turkey.
