Bastau Alakol Hotel

We stayed from July 5th to July 7th, 2025, and the rooms were awful. I doubt they change the sheets after checkout. We had to argue before they reluctantly gave us sheets for the VIP rooms. The mattresses are thin and smelly, and they should be washed from time to time. The rooms were filthy all over. When we asked for cleaning, the woman used the same rag on the sink and toilet, then mopped the floor with it. The price isn’t cheap, but the conditions felt like somewhere costing 5,000 rubles.

The grounds felt cozy and were clean, the standard room suited me, and the food was fine, with salads and variety. Room service is available too. The staff were generally polite, and the prices seemed reasonable. Everything was organized well, though for some reason nobody cleans the rooms. What let the stay down was the beach. It’s public, so maybe the mayor’s office should look after it, but the booths have been placed haphazardly and the litter around them spoils the whole experience. If these commercial stalls are legally allowed, I think they should be designed and positioned more professionally, off the shoreline and to the left and right, so there’s a clear view from the Recreation Area. Bastau Hotel is the best place to stay in Alakol. Enjoy your stay!

The beach is gorgeous and only a three-minute walk from the rooms. There’s a playground, bar, and cafeteria there too. The rooms are neat and clean, management is polite, and the people are nice. Meals are served three times a day. For the price and quality, this is definitely one of the best hotels. We had a wonderful time!

Our first time at Bastava this year, and we really liked the rooms. They’re roomy, clean, and well equipped. The bathroom was good, with hot water and a boiler installed. The food was delicious: five different menus across five days, varied salads, and fresh hot bread baked there.
