Diamond Shymkent Hotel

The room had no smell, and the bathroom was the one thing that could use improvement: there was no exhaust fan or other way to clear dampness and odors after a shower. Still, it was peaceful and quiet, just what we needed while traveling from Uzbekistan to Almaty, where we’re from. The mattresses were comfortable enough that my back was grateful, there were enough pillows, and the clean bedding was neatly ironed. Everything was clean, down to the carpet. We had to leave at 7:30 a.m. and expected to miss breakfast since it normally starts then, but the receptionist and staff served it at 7:00 instead. That was nice.

Nearby there are restaurants, bars, shops and pharmacies, and the hotel has parking along the road. The lounge is nicely decorated and comfortable, with fresh water available for guests and residents. We put up our foreign colleagues here and were very pleased with the spacious rooms, soft beds, clean sheets and free Wi-Fi. The staff were excellent. The reception guys woke us as requested during the night and helped arrange a taxi. Prices seemed reasonable, especially with breakfast included. I recommend it.

Right in the center, which is a great location. The place was cozy and clean, and the staff were friendly.

The breakfasts had plenty of tasty choices, and when I requested an iron and board they arrived in five minutes. I spent three days at Diamond Hotel Shymkent and was impressed by the service. The receptionists stand to greet people as they come in. Aysaule was especially charming: she offered ideas for places to see in Shymkent and nearby, suggested local spots, and later asked how I liked them. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Shymkent.
