The location is right in the city center, and the rooms are spacious with all amenities. Breakfast had a great spread. The gym was the bad part: all the equipment was broken and without power, and it had clearly not been maintained. The sauna was being used to store an old mattress. The whole setup was in a pathetic state.

Be aware that using the pool costs extra, $20 per. If the hotel advertises that it has a pool, the notice should make this clear and be honest about the charge.

The food was excellent, the room was nice, and I liked the shower. Staff were eager to help with anything, even trying to assist when we had car trouble. Some other guests were loud and obnoxious, though I can't blame the staff for that. My one complaint about the room was the air conditioning, which was noisy and didn't work well.

The central location was a big plus, about 10 minutes from Mega Planet, with the rest of Shymkent center easy to reach. Inside, it's cozy with an English-style feel. The rooms are large, with a soft, comfortable bed, a wardrobe, and a little space around it, though the bathroom is small. Reception staff were especially friendly. Breakfast was wonderful too: I ordered oatmeal and eggs, and both were done really well. I'd come back on another trip for the location, breakfast, and partly the room itself.
