Ecopana

Altai, Alnura and Danil were always there to answer our questions. They even let us leave our bags and use the shower while we waited for the train the next day. A friendly, helpful guesthouse, and good value as well.

I’d give it 8.5/10, or 4/5. The price is what earned that score, and the value for money is exceptional. I booked the attic room for 5 nights. It had a double bed, AC, a desk and chair, plus a well-kept ensuite with hot water always available. The place was clean, and the owner was nice enough, spoke a little English, and offered complimentary water. Still, I personally wouldn't stay again. The location isn't good, and the place is about as aesthetically unpleasant as it gets. Checkout was at 10:00am, the towel smelled bad, and twice I couldn't unlock the door. After the owner showed me how, it unlocked differently than before. My bigger concern is fire safety: if there were a fire on the ground floor, anyone in the attic might cease to exist, since the windows are too narrow to escape through and the other guest doors would likely be locked in that situation. Surely that's not up to fire regulations? Those are small points, but I think any good review needs to take them into account.

I loved staying here. The atmosphere was friendly, and it was great value.

Good.
