Altai Mountains Resort Chalet

The mountains are magnificent, and in mid-November there was already 2 meters of snow up there. For skiers and snowmobilers, this place has a lot set up: rentals and a snowmobile school, a heated garage for warming equipment and repairs, plus a dryer for gear. Alexander Chuev knows the mountains well and can teach or take freeriders out by snowcat, including to those hidden, special spots. After a day outside, the rooms are comfortable, with good beds and white linens and towels, and there's a sauna with plunge pools at different temperatures. The restaurant has an open kitchen and delicious lamb dishes, while the bar serves different beers, spirits, and wine. Prices are reasonable, and the place feels thought through down to the details. A comfortable stay for a proper active holiday.

Ridder turned out to be the kind of unfamiliar place in Kazakhstan I was hoping to find, with nature, fresh air, rivers and few tourists, plus an authentic hotel in Ridder Resort & Spa. I wanted a quiet, comfortable stay, and that's what I found. It was easy to be myself there, among real professionals and surrounded by beautiful nature. The bathhouse exceeded all my expectations. I'm grateful places like this exist.

The service was top-notch, and the staff deserve thanks. I loved the music too, which is rare in Kazakhstani establishments. We kept Shazaming the tracks. The rooms were cozy and clean, the sauna was fantastic, and the cuisine was excellent. Be sure to try the pike perch. It's a great place for a winter break in East Kazakhstan, and the experience was worth the money.

We went to the hotel restaurant and had a wonderful time. The staff were great, and the service was excellent without being intrusive. Everything we ate was fresh and so delicious. The pleasant atmosphere, unique nature and energy of the place made for a super mix. It's the first time I've felt this kind of joy in Ridder, and the level is top-notch. Highly recommended.
