I liked the hotel's library and the main hall corridor. The location isn't central, though. The rooms are very small, as are the shower and toilet areas, and breakfast could use more food. The walls are thin enough that you can hear the neighboring TV. There's no table for working on a computer, and some doors won't close unless you use a key.

The manager really went out of his way to help me, and the staff were excellent throughout my week there. It's very affordable, and although the hotel is on the edge of the city, you can walk to both the bus and train stations.

We had a junior suite for nine days, with a comfy sofa and a small kitchenette. It felt homey, was well equipped, and the Wi-Fi stayed reliable enough for all the programming work my colleagues and I needed to do. The hotel is close to the bus station, but the road and nearby area were quiet. Management handled urgent matters well and took care of problems day by day. Breakfast was included, and the home-cooked food was excellent. For dinner, the à la carte menu had healthy soups and nicely cooked cutlets. The taxi service was convenient and didn't raise its prices, even though the place is popular. For a small border town, this is the best service it can offer.

The room had a comfortable bed, bottled water, shampoo, shower gel, soap and toothbrushes. The hotel was clean and quiet, with a separate room for smoking, and the staff were polite. A double room is 20,000 tenge a night, with breakfast at the restaurant included.
