The setting was a highlight for me: it’s in one of the oldest parts of town, close to the eternal flame memorial, museums, cafes, and other cultural spots. The hotel itself is comfortable, though not luxurious. My room was clean and had what I needed, but felt a little cramped. Breakfast had a surprisingly broad selection, and the staff’s English was a real plus for international guests. There are also meeting room and massage services. I had a good stay and would happily come back.

For a place like Uralsk, the hotel is fine in most ways. The rooms get uncomfortably hot in summer, even with the temperature setting turned all the way down. The staff couldn't sort it out, and I suspect the system is old.

The rooms are cleaned properly every day, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Just know that rooms come with tea but no coffee. At breakfast, you have to pay for a second cup of coffee, which didn't feel very customer friendly. I also needed an iron right after arriving for a business trip, and couldn't get one quickly. Your call.

The staff were very helpful, and the room service food was great. I also liked that the so-called continental breakfast was much more substantial than expected, with hot dishes and made-to-order options. I booked the larger suite for only a little more than a standard room, and enjoyed having the extra space.
