For 120,000 kip with air conditioning, the room was comfortable and clean. The receptionist was polite and spoke a little English. There was free water at reception, plus complimentary tea and coffee in the morning. The room had well-placed power sockets, and the shower had hot water. You can find cheaper places in town, but perhaps not as comfortable or clean. Shops and restaurants are nearby.

The room was filthy, with rubbish in the bedroom and lots of black mold in the bathroom. There was even a condom on the toilet handle. We booked a fan room, but there was no fan, so it was hot and stuffy. When we eventually found a staff member, they rudely said we didn’t need a fan. The front desk was empty whenever we needed help, so we had to walk around looking for someone.

Weird hotel. Most rooms have no window to the outside, just one facing the corridor. Service wasn’t very nice, but the price was low, around 10 euros, and I slept really well. It’s one of the biggest hotels in town and close to the center. There are much better places across the river, in Thailand.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and the hotel was clean, with spacious rooms, towels, and hot water. The mattress was impressively comfortable by Lao standards. A minute away is Sabai, where Mr. Nam serves breakfast and is very friendly. He’ll do his best to make it suit your taste.
