Dokchampa Guesthouse

The people here were so kind, and we loved our stay. The husband who owns the guesthouse was especially warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the on-site restaurant and can recommend it. It also serves lunch and dinner, and there are plenty of other restaurants along the road. Dokchampa Guesthouse sits right on the Mekong, with spacious, clean, well-kept rooms on one level. Each has a private deck with a hammock, a comfortable bed and air-conditioning. The balcony was lovely for resting in the hot afternoons or watching sunrise and sunset over the river. Great value, and we'd definitely come back.

We tried breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant and recommend both. Staff were helpful too. The rooms are spacious, clean and well cared for, with comfortable beds and private decks right over the Mekong. Those deck hammocks are brilliant for relaxing in the heat of the afternoon.

The room had a kettle and coffee, which was a nice touch, as well as AC and a fan. The fan made noise as it turned. It was spacious and clean, with a lovely river view from the balcony. A great stay, and I'd come back.

The hosts are so friendly, the place is quiet, and the rooms are spacious with a great Mekong view. We had AC and a mosquito net. Wifi and 4G were available, though a bit shaky. We asked the day before leaving to arrange a boat and bus to Pakse, and it worked really well. I'd recommend booking one extra night beyond what you planned, because you might fall in love with quiet Don Khon.
