Baan Pila

Phout and his team really know how to look after people. Laos can be challenging, and you often need a backup plan in case something goes wrong. Here, though, we felt these people would never leave us stranded if anything happened. Anyone who's travelled the Don Det - Pakse - Savannakhet - Vientiane - Vang Vieng route will know what I mean. This was the last stop on our tiring, full-on journey through Laos, and I don't want to be unfair to the other places we stayed, but the service here was easily the best of the trip. The staff were extraordinarily attentive. The rooms were clean, the atmosphere relaxing, and breakfast delicious. If I return to Luang Prabang, I'd definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and breakfast was healthy with plenty of good choices. It's well placed for reaching the sights, and the calm setting has a swimming pool for relaxing. A lovely place with beautiful, spacious rooms and wonderful local design. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the cozy surroundings had everything for an easy, relaxing stay. There were organic bathroom products, plus a minibar with kombucha, vine, and healthy snacks.

Staff are super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had, beautifully presented and cooked just right. This boutique hotel is a little oasis away from the busy city. The rooms are massive, bright, and well equipped, with some quirky touches. We arrived on Valentine's Day, and there were a rose and cookies waiting for us. Would highly recommend it.

The breakfasts alone were unforgettable, and they gave us such a lovely introduction to Lao food and culture. Across our four weeks in Laos and Thailand, Baan-Pila was easily our favorite place to stay. We were a family of five, and the team made us feel so cared for: Phout, Tanoy, Bee, Alin, and everyone else were warm, generous, patient, and kind. They helped us learn a little Lao each day and communicate more confidently, arranged free bicycles and made sure they were ready, and helped with maps, sights, and trips. At sundown they checked for mosquitoes and advised us, though there were hardly any. They kept Baan Pila secure and spotless, too. I can hardly describe how special the place was. Don’t miss this wonderful oasis.
