I couldn’t stay in my room because the previous guest had a motorcycle accident, so I wasn’t able to check in. The manager quickly arranged a move to an even better hotel at no extra cost, and the staff were impressively kind and professional throughout. The location is unbeatable, right beside the Night Market. I didn’t get to experience the room this time, but I’ll choose Queens Hotel again on my next visit to Luang Prabang.

The owner was so friendly and accommodating, helped us book train tickets and answered my questions on WhatsApp before we arrived. Queens House is perfectly placed near both the night market and morning market, yet it stayed super quiet at night. We loved the spacious, soft beds and cold air-conditioning. Breakfast was generous and good quality for the price, and the banana pancake was our favourite. There’s also a water cooler for refilling bottles, and little touches around the place made us feel welcome. We’d definitely stay again.

Sai at reception deserves a shoutout. He’s really friendly, speaks the best English of the Laos people I met, and can arrange everything from SIM cards to transport. The hostel has affordable prices, spacious rooms and a decent shared breakfast, right in the heart of the Night Market. One detail I hadn’t seen mentioned: cars can’t reach the hostel because it’s down a narrow alley. It’s under a minute on foot, but the stone path can be awkward with heavy bags and may have puddles or mud even when it hasn’t rained.

We found Queens House welcoming, with genuinely lovely people working there. It’s a great base for seeing the temples on foot, and there are plenty of food places and transport options just steps away. The guesthouse sits between the Morning Market and Night Market, just off the main road in a peaceful spot. Breakfast was generous each morning, and our room was spotless and comfortable, with its own bathroom and a proper hot-water shower. We highly recommend it for a visit to Luang Prabang.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and our large bedroom had a balcony. The bathroom was beautifully clean, and the shower had real pressure and hot water, the first proper shower I’d had in Southeast Asia. The hotel is nicely positioned between the morning and evening markets, between the main street and the road along the Mekong. For a small fee, you can get a little food basket, prayer sash and small mat to kneel on while honoring and feeding the monks at 6:00 during their Bindabat, the alms walk for their single meal of the day.
