The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly, even if they weren’t helpful. The room itself was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. If I’d stayed in the first room, this would have been a completely different review. They woke me the next day and made me move from a great room on the main level to one downstairs beside the hostel. Water running anywhere was super loud. The shower sprayed everywhere, the outlet by the bed didn’t work, and the internet only worked when I stood by the door. Staff couldn’t move me again and wouldn’t bother the owner, but suggested I leave a bad review. That didn’t do much for my stay. Really poor customer service.

The rooftop is very cool, and the bathroom was one of the nicest I saw in Laos. Breakfast was great and included in the room rate. The bed was hard and the wifi slow, but for the price it wasn’t bad.

The only part I liked was the good breakfast. This was probably the worst hostel I’ve stayed at so far in Southeast Asia. The dorms are cramped and tiny in the basement, with no oxygen inside. The mattresses are on the floor instead of proper beds, the sheets weren’t clean, and both the dorms and bathrooms could be much cleaner. There’s no wifi in the dorms.

The owner-manager is a really nice person, easy to trust, and speaks English and Japanese perfectly. All the staff are kind too. The place is cheap and comfortable, with a good mood inside all the time. The rooms and dorms are quiet, the beds are clean and comfortable, and there’s air conditioning all day as well as a fan. Breakfast is free every day: two eggs, unlimited bread, coffee or tea, banana, watermelon, and fried fancy. I recommend this place and will probably come back!

The dorms are cheap, and the place is close to the market. But the AC kept getting switched off every 30 minutes, and guests aren’t allowed to touch the main switch or there’s a $25 charge. It was really hot, so we had to ask again and again to have it turned back on. After coming back from a hot day at 4 pm, we were told at reception it couldn’t be switched on until 7 pm. I’ve never seen rules like that. Crazy.
