The location is excellent and the place is cheap, but it really feels like a hostel. My room was bare and the toilet kept running. Towels were taken away every day, and I had to ask to get them back. It looked clean at first, but there was lots of dust behind the bed. Quite depressing, really. The man at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and spoke good English. He deserves five stars and a better hotel to work at. My service rating is only because of him. It’s a pity about the rest, especially with such a good location.

The breakfast buffet is by the river, and the banana bread was really good. Service was good too, and we rented a decent click scooter for 200,000 kip for 24 hours. The room is simple but had what we needed, including a good bed, warm shower, fridge, and enough hooks and shelves. It's very close to where the monks receive alms in the morning, so you sometimes hear people early. The neighbours' showers are really loud.

The front desk was super helpful whenever we had a request, and the breakfast was outstanding. We paid a little extra on Agoda for it, and there was plenty to choose from, including eggs, toast, fried rice, coffee, croissants, and banana bread, all served in their lovely cafe overlooking the Mekong. We had a family room with two double beds and good air con, which was needed in LP in October. The room was pretty good, but we always had to ask for more toilet paper because the cleaners never refilled it.

The staff were very friendly and cleaned the room every day. It's about 20 meters across the street from the Mekong River, with cafes and restaurants close by. A short walk takes you to the main road where the old town night market is held. Vendors start lining the road around 4 PM, and there's also a street market with a variety of food at cheap prices. The entrance can be a little confusing at first because the accommodation name is written in small letters on the door. Inside, the room is made of wood, with a deep reddish-brown floor that felt both unfamiliar and familiar. The queen-size bed is large and soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I lay down. The shower is separated by a glass wall and always had hot water, which made it convenient to use. I thought it was very affordable and would recommend it.

The wooden floor was so slippery, and the rooms felt dirty and very basic. At dusk, moths swarmed into the lobby, hallways, and rooms. I still feel scarred by the roughly 50 of them buzzing around everywhere. We hadn't even left the windows or doors open. They eventually went away, but I was close to leaving right then. It was OK, but I wouldn't return.
