Sanga Hostel

Luanng at the front desk made the stay especially welcoming. She was kind, professional, patient with my questions, and attentive from check-in onward. The hostel is clean throughout, with careful attention to detail, and everything felt well organized and comfortable. It sets a high standard for hygiene, management, and service. I had a really great stay in Pakse and would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

The hostel is affordable and impressively clean, especially the bathrooms and showers. Tours and motorbike rentals are available at good value, which is handy for travelers. The owner is so kind and lovely, and looks after guests like a caring older sister. She speaks fluent English, so communication is easy. I felt completely at ease here and highly recommend Sanga Hostel and Souvenir.

There's no real social area, though there's a cafe downstairs. The manager/receptionist is the best part, friendly and caring, and she organizes everything for you. Beds are spacious, wide, long, solid, and don't wobble, with good curtains. You get two towels, a locker and key, plus a front door key for overnight, when the door is locked. There are plenty of toilets and showers, and they're pretty clean. The whole place looks very nice.

The food suited vegetarians and vegans well, and the free vegan ice cream made with soy milk and black bean was a nice touch. We ate the yellow curry basically every day. In my opinion, it's the best across Thailand and Laos. The kind, friendly staff helped with every question and gave us options, especially with planning the Bolaven Loop. They organize tours, help you plan your own loop in detail, can arrange bookings for much better prices than online, and rent scooters. There's laundry service too. This was a real gem and the most relaxed I felt on my whole journey. Best hostel we stayed at in all of Laos, better than the hotels too.
