Pont Inn Nong Khiaw

The bed was hard, basically a box spring with a thin mattress, but the staff brought extra padding the next day when we asked, and that helped. The A-frame room felt cozy but cramped for moving around and storing luggage. The shower’s plastic panels weren’t very clean and had dark spots that looked like mold. Music from the restaurant next door played until about 9-10 p.m., which could bother light sleepers. The owners were warm, quick to respond, and happy to help, and the air conditioning worked very well after hot days out exploring. The hotel also arranged a boat trip that became a highlight. The boat picked us up right from the shore below the hotel, which was very convenient. It’s a short walk to town’s restaurants and shops, and several popular hikes are close by. There’s a little coffee bar on site, though we didn’t try it. For the very affordable price, our stay at Pont Inn in Nong Khiaw was pleasant and good value for budget travelers.

Nick was incredibly helpful arranging trips and offering advice, and the price was excellent for what we got. From the bed we could look straight out at the river, and there was a terrace with seats. Drinking water, both hot and cold, and a hairdryer were available. The room and bathroom could have been cleaner, but otherwise everything was great.

The tents were roomy and comfortable, even with heated mattresses for chilly nights. The shower gets hot if you keep the water pressure low, and the toilets are automatic Japanese style. Mr. Lee was a cheerful, friendly host. I liked staying here so much I extended to a week. Hard to beat for 90k :-)

The team brought breakfast down from the restaurant so I could eat on the balcony. I stayed in one of the tent-style cabins at the top of the property, with sensational views of nong khiaw. The manager was so friendly and helpful, the best hotel manager I came across in all laos. I absolutely loved my stay, one of the best places I stayed in laos.
