Pearl of Beirut Hotel & Spa

The location is nice, and the rooms are clean with affordable prices. But at least in my room, the mattress was cheap quality, there wasn't enough soap or shampoo, and the heating wasn't enough to keep us warm. We planned to stay a week, so we paid for two nights to see how it went. After just one night we decided to leave and asked for a refund, but the person in charge said management wouldn't allow it. I don't recommend this hotel. If you do stay, it may be better to pay for just one night first and decide for yourself whether you want to stay longer.

We only needed a room for one night before our flight, so I called ahead and was told the booking was set and we could check in. When we arrived from Canada with our baby, the room was filthy: dirty bathroom and floors, grime coming through the shower water, and unwashed glass cups. The phone didn’t work when we tried to reach room service. After staff spent a while trying to fix it, I asked them to stop, and the TV also wasn’t working. We put up with it for a few hours, then left after three hours. The front desk wouldn’t offer any compensation. Never again.

I stayed at Pear of Beirut for a month and felt at home there. The staff were warm and friendly, and the reception team was especially helpful. Hot water, Wi-Fi, and electricity were available, even with the frequent power cuts. The management and hotel employees deserve praise. They felt like part of my family.

The facility needs better upkeep to create a more welcoming atmosphere. I also felt a disconnect between staff and customers, as the staff could come across as indifferent or disengaged, which affected the experience. It would help to train employees in communication and customer service, including listening, empathy, and resolving conflicts. A simple complaint process should make sure concerns are investigated and handled promptly. Staff could take more initiative by greeting guests, offering help, and checking that they’re satisfied, and they should be able to resolve issues on the spot. Keeping the facility clean and tidy could make it feel more engaging. Regularly asking customers for feedback would also help identify what needs improvement and track progress.
