Burj on Bay Hotel

Georges was especially polite and helpful, and the two waiters gave us the one bright spot at dinner. The food itself was poor, though, and breakfast had very few options. Our room and the sheets, towels, and bathrobes all smelled unpleasant; the robes were also torn and worn. The furniture was very old, and housekeeping fell below expectations. This didn’t feel like a five-star hotel at all. At three stars, the experience might have been acceptable, but at this price it was disappointing and overpriced. I wouldn’t pay this amount again for this level of service.

We left feeling sad and disappointed, and the WC wasn't great either. The salmon was extremely dry, which added to a night that had already gone badly for our group of nine celebrating our best friend. Seven main dishes arrived, but the other two took so long that we finished eating before anything else came. Then just one more dish showed up, so one was still missing. The waiters kept saying “one minute, it’s coming” without giving clear answers, and they laughed and chatted in front of our table. The managers, there were two, handled the problem unprofessionally and didn’t fix anything. For a lounge that’s meant to be high-end, the service from waiters to managers was the worst. We’ll never return or recommend it.

The location is beautiful, and the ambience worked perfectly for our engagement dinner at Burj on Bay. Elise, the executive banquet sales contact, was friendly, organized, quick to respond, and always available when we needed help. The whole team made us feel cared for, with excellent service, friendly staff, and delicious food and drinks. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. I’d recommend it for a special event.

The staff were friendly, but the meal at Madame restaurant was awful. They brought the wrong wine, and the steak and fries seemed frozen. We asked for the steak medium well; after reheating it three times, it arrived burnt and far too well done. The fries were soggy and tasteless. We won't be back.
