Sandals Grande St. Lucian All Inclusive

The beach was lovely, and we enjoyed the water sports without much of a wait. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to look after us, even though we didn’t have a Butler Suite. We had a really great honeymoon at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Our room in the Cap Estates building was a good size, but it could use an update. The bed frame was yellowing, and the lamps had rust on them. The water was scalding hot even on the lowest setting. Maybe some other buildings have been updated, but for the price I expected more. The food was tasty, about what I expected at an all-inclusive, though nothing extraordinary. Bombay, Barefoot, and Soy were our favorite spots. The drinks were less successful for me. Many were too sweet or didn’t taste like the classic recipes.

Delia, our restaurant hostess, made our stay extra special, and the staff generally went above and beyond. The property was beautifully maintained and clean the whole time. There are 12 restaurants, and I don’t think you can go wrong choosing one. The food was amazing. Just to clarify, this review is about your resort in Saint Lucia, not Jamaica Dunns River. There were quiet areas and livelier parts of the resort, so we could pick the mood we wanted each day. Our room was amazing and just a short walk down to the wonderful beach. From the moment we arrived, everyone was friendly and helpful. My husband and I came here for our delayed honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for anything better. We were sad to leave and hope we can make it back someday. Definitely recommend.

We’ve visited five Sandals resorts, and this is the first one we decided to rebook almost as soon as we arrived. The ride from the airport is long, but it gave us a guided, almost private look at the island, its scenery, and its people. We knew we’d return as soon as we stepped off the transfer shuttle. Our butler suite was in a peaceful spot, with sweeping views of the mountains, Caribbean, and grounds. The beach is long, with white sand, warm calm water, and mountains around it. Nearby Pigeon Island is part of the national park and has an 18th-century military site used in both World Wars. Climbing up was a joy, especially for the views of Martinique, only 25 miles from St. Lucia. The lobby is gorgeous, with different kinds of seating, alcoves, shops, and a bar. Food quality was high, particularly at Barefoot and Toscanini, and the service was outstanding. The Lucian people are happy, kind, proud of Saint Lucia, and focused on service. The property is well managed, and the hotel manager brings years of Sandals experience and good insight. He’s a joy to talk with. Our butlers were delightful, especially Makaiah, who left us little surprises every day and gave impeccable service in between. We met several guests who’ve returned every year since the property opened 23 years ago, but never thought we’d book our own return trip before we were even halfway through the stay. We’d never experienced Sandals’ “Welcome Home” motto for returning guests until this visit.
