Sandals Halcyon Beach

We spent seven days at Halcyon and felt we picked the right of the three Sandals properties on the island. There's some activity and a bit of a party atmosphere around the main pool, while the beach and second pool are peaceful. The property is quaint and easygoing, and being able to use amenities at all three resorts is a nice option. St Lucia is absolutely beautiful, and the people were among the friendliest and most welcoming in the Caribbean. The staff at Halcyon were amazing and very accommodating, with many going out of their way to help. I'd highly recommend staying here, and I hope to come back when I can.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sandals Halcyon, and compared with the other properties we visited, we preferred it to La Toc. The Grand was lovely too. We also had a great time on the boat trip to the mud bath, waterfall, and snorkeling with Skittles, who you can find right on the beach. It was an amazing experience and well worth doing. The food was outstanding at every restaurant we tried, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The pools and relaxing atmosphere were great, and some staff were genuinely lovely and made parts of the trip special. With consistently warm service, this could easily be a five-star resort. Unfortunately, some servers and especially the night bartender were repeatedly rude to us and to several other guests we spoke with. That made the start of our trip disappointing. Service improved after a few days, mostly because we figured out which spots to avoid. I hope management addresses the evening bartender issue, since so many guests noticed it. The resort has real potential, but those service problems kept it from being a perfect vacation for us.

Suite 119 worked perfectly for us. It was on the east side, near the beach and main pool but far enough away that we couldn't hear the music and events. The room stayed clean and well kept, excursions were easy to arrange, and our butler team was second to none. Most of all, we felt safe and could fully relax knowing help was there throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived at Halcyon, everything went smoothly. We were welcomed with a song, got our restaurant bookings for the week right away, and were shown to our Butler Elite Suite. The food choices were standard, but there was just the right mix for us. VITO & WILLARD were the best!! We spent three nights at Halcyon, with visits to Grande, and two nights at La Toc. This location suited us really well. The resort is the smallest of the three, but for service and relaxation it was the best for us. A few things to keep in mind: the road trip from the airport takes 1.5 hours. Transport is provided, though we booked a private ride. Make restaurant reservations as soon as you can, whether at Halcyon or another St. Lucia Sandals resort. And reserve your spot on the beach each morning 🙂🏝️🍹

The lagoon pool was our favorite, quiet and relaxing, with lovely plants and birds along both sides. The nearby honeymoon hideaway pool was another calm option, with a swim-up bed and loungers. The sunset pool is livelier, with a swim-up bar and all the pool activities. Pool beds can take an early start to claim, though we usually found one or two when we went. We preferred getting out to explore anyway. This was our first Sandals stay and first trip to St Lucia, and we had a wonderful time. Halcyon is smaller and quieter than the other two resorts, so it suited us for a secluded, romantic feel. It's easy to get around, with everything just a 3-5 minute walk away, and its position between the other resorts makes the free shuttle handy if you want to visit them. We had an inexpensive first-floor room overlooking the lagoon pool. It was clean and comfortable, so I had no complaints. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I felt well looked after. My wife and I enjoyed the food too. Kelly's Dockside did an amazing steak, and we tried restaurants at the other properties as well. The Pitons at La Toc and Barefoot at the Grande are especially worth mentioning. Breakfast service doesn't really get going until 07:30, which can make things tight if you're heading out early for an excursion or a dive. We enjoyed the watersports and made good use of the resort dive centre. The dive boats were great, but diving gets busy, so expect large groups and book early to avoid missing out. I was very happy with our stay and would recommend Halcyon to anyone after a quieter, more relaxed Sandals experience on St Lucia.
